BIBLE STUDY
There are two Advent bible studies conducted by two of our retired clergy in our parish, Rev. Martin Hunnybun and Bishop Len Eacott. Rev. Martin conducts three sessions. looking at the biblical graces of Faith, Hope and Love, noting that their meaning and significance in Scripture is very different from that which is commonly understood by those terms. The Advent study conducted by Bishop Len is a four-session study based on the Advent scripture readings. The program is concluded in the week preceding the Fourth Sunday of Advent.
BIBLE STUDY
Lurline Campbel is responsible for this contemporary Bible study ministry. The aim of the group is for members to grow in the knowledge and love of God and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to walk closer with Jesus by understanding God’s saving grace and guidance in our lives. Towards this end, we study and discuss books in the Bible and pray together. A weekly communication with prayer points and a Zoom link for a regular member is sent to some Prayer and Presence members as well as to the group.
We are thankful to the EV church at Erina on the NSW Central Coast for the gift of their surplus study books at the end of each term.
BIBLE STUDY
This group meets at St James' Church Hall on Mondays between 1.30-3pm during school terms. Three primary functions of the group are to: support one another in our daily life struggles and give thanks for blessings; intercede on request; and deepen faith through Scripture reading, discussion, and application to daily life. This Bible study focuses on seeking contemporary wisdom in Scripture and how to apply that to our lives and that of the world we live in, both human and natural. There is room for the members.
BIBLE STUDY
This is one of the oldest ministries of our Parish, having been meeting for about 27 years at the home of Pat and Barry Schmidt and now at the St James Hall. The format of this ministry is, a cuppa and some socialising, prayer time for concerns raised by group members then about an hour looking at and discussing the readings.
