Prayer for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ministries and Concerns
This small Group (average attendance is 7) has continued to meet on the third Thursday of the month at the home of Ian and Bev Huguenin from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Established in 2011, Gunya Meta Inc is a non-profit organisation that focuses on serving the needs of aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families in Logan. Under the guidance and direction of their board, Gunya Meta’s suite of education and health-based programs support self-determination, social and emotional well-being, and provides opportunities for job training and employment.
PASTORAL CARE
The Prayer and Presence ministry team prays and cares for congregation members. Pastoral care commitments are met through phone calls or visits to the incapacitated and elderly, including meeting up with former members of our congregation who can no longer worship at St Matthew’s.
PRAYER MEETING
From 7:00am to 7:45am
Each Thursday, a small group of members meet on Zoom for prayer. It is very informal, and everyone is welcome to join. If you would like to join the group, please email Don Campbell on dlcampbe@onthenet.com.au and on the day before the Zoom Prayer time, the link will be sent.
PRAYER MEETING
A small group pf Parishioners meet at St Matthew’s on the first Wednesday of the month from 7.00pm till 8.00pm. If people can’t make the gathering, they are encouraged to spend the time or part of it in prayer in their homes. The time includes a brief sharing of a Scripture based article and then silent and/or open prayer. Then world, national and Parish prayer requests, and the needs of people are brought to the Lord. We would love to have more people join us as we believe this is a vital ministry. It is open to all.
